Veeam Backup for Microsoft O365 is now Free for up to 10 users
The new release of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 v2, includes a “Community Edition” tailored for small businesses and home users. Veeam® Backup for Microsoft Office 365 Community Edition provides free backup and recovery of Office 365 Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business for up to 10 users.
“We are really excited that Veeam released a ‘Community Edition’.” Senior Systems Engineer, Josh Archer said. “This release will allow some of our smaller clients to protect their email data without incurring any additional costs.”
According to Archer, the release will not only help Element Four’s smaller clients—but some of its larger clients as well.
“In addition to being free for our smaller clients, the release will also allow systems administrators from larger companies to test the product.” Archer said. “They will be able to utilize the product for a small focus group before they roll it out to their entire organization.”
Veeam backup for Microsoft O365 Community Edition will help organizations protect against accidental deletion, security threats, and retention policy gaps. Additionally, it reduces the time and effort needed to restore items and protects against accidental deletion.
“There really is no excuse not to implement it, even if you are only backing up the data of your C-Levels.” Archer said. “The setup only takes 10 minutes and Element Four’s engineers will be able to help you through every step.”
There are limits to the “Community Edition”—companies will be limited to 10 users and 1TB of protected SharePoint data. However, users will still have access to all the new features released with the update.
“We would much rather have our clients back up all of their O365 users, but if a full implementation isn’t realistic, the Community Edition can still provide an organization with peace of mind.” Archer said.
