Element Four is thrilled to announce that we have once again been awarded the Switch Sustainability Certificate for our commitment to using 100% Renewable Energy within Switch’s state-of-the-art data center ecosystem.
In 2020 and 2022, Switch retired Renewable Energy Credits on our behalf, ensuring that our energy consumption at Switch’s data center facilities remained 100% Green. Building on this commitment, we are proud to share that Switch has retired 86 Renewable Energy Credits in 2023, further solidifying our dedication to sustainability and green energy usage within Switch’s data centers.
These Renewable Energy Credits, which comply with Greenpeace’s principles of locality, additionality, and sustainability, reflect our joint commitment to environmental responsibility. They were generated by Nevada solar farms, WECC hydroelectric plants, and Miso Waste Heat Recovery facilities, aligning with our mission to support renewable energy sources.
Switch’s dedication to environmental stewardship is evident in their impressive track record:
- Net ZERO Scope 2 emissions since 2016
- Net ZERO Scope 1 emissions since 2021
- Earned the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Certification for superior energy efficiency
- Named One of the Top 5 Tech Companies for Solar Use by the Solar Energy Industries Association
Element Four President Chris Vinton expressed his gratitude, stating, “We have been partners with Switch since 2017.
