Chris Vinton - Founder & CEO
Chris has been a part of the Grand Rapids community since he graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1988. After graduation, he started his career in commercial banking with First Michigan Bank (FMB). After seven years in banking, he had an opportunity to work for a predominant technology company in the Grand Rapids area. He then spent five years working for this company, serving in the role of Vice President and was involved in all facets of the business. This technology company was later acquired, at which time Chris decided to exit and start his first company NVINT, Inc. in 2002.
In 2006, Chris founded Element Four as a division of NVINT Inc. and the company formally spun off into its own entity in 2009. Element Four was started to provide hosting, cloud and colocation services to companies across the globe.
Chris is deeply rooted in West Michigan and is proud to say that both his businesses are headquartered in Grand Rapids. Chris serves on the Board of Governors for the Van Andel Institute and sits on the Technology Advisor Committee for Davenport University.
Andrew Roe - Chief Technology Officer
Andrew Roe is our Chief Technology Officer. Andrew brings over 23 years of information technology engineering and management experience to the Element Four team. Andrew began his career in the United States Marine Corps serving as a 4066 Small Computer Systems Specialist. He then worked as the MIS for the public works and contracts offices of the Guantanamo Bay naval base. Continuing his career as an engineer Andrew served as the Sr. Systems Engineer for Morelli Systems, an application development and hosting company in Chicago responsible for hosting web sites for BP Amoco, JC Penny, Pfizer, and Brookfield Zoo. Andrew later became the Sr. Systems Engineer for Eimo Americas and was responsible for architecting and managing a global infrastructure spanning 24 countries and 30,000+ employees. From there Andrew became the COO for Fusion IT, an IT services company he founded. He later became the CTO for Vantage Point Solutions Group a second company Andrew co-founded. Before joining Element Four in 2016 Andrew was serving as the Sr. Systems Architect for Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C.
Beth Ostrowski - Chief Operations Officer
Beth Ostrowski is our Chief of Operations and works directly with clients, executive account managers and the engineering team to ensure successful implementations of technical projects and post-implementation service and support. Beth has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from DePaul University. She also has previous technical experience in custom software development with a large international management consulting firm before joining Element Four.
Since joining Element Four in 2006, Beth has worked in various roles, including technical projects, from proposal through implementation including follow up support. Most recently Beth functions as the Service Manager. Beth realizes the importance of proper planning, attention to detail and tries to always be mindful of the client perspective during any engagement or task.
Tammy Broderick - Operations Manager
Tammy Broderick is the Operations Manager at Element Four. She oversees the day to day operations including, Accounting, Purchasing and Order Management. Tammy has over 20 years of experience and provides a tremendous amount of insight, direction and efficiency to Element Four. Tammy brings deep knowledge of organizational processes and protocol—if an internal issue arises Tammy is always able to provide a solution to the problem.
Josh Archer - Manager of Engineering Services
Josh Archer is our Manager of Engineering Services and resident genius. After graduating with honors from DeVry University in 2014 and receiving his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Josh continued developing his skillset through professional IT experience and certifications. Josh knows the importance of planning and attention to detail when executing projects - this has led to a proven track record of successful large scale, complex project work.
Since joining the Element Four team in July of 2016, Josh has worked continuously to upgrade internal systems and workflows to improve service offerings for Element Four’s clients. His expertise in network design/architecture, VMware, Cisco switching, Foritgate Firewalls, and Microsoft Windows server Administration allows him to design, implement, and support a wide range of IT systems for clients.
Josh also completed several enterprise projects during this time, including Veeam design and deployment for a client with over 10,000 employees.
In 2018, Josh became a Veeam Certified Architect--the highest level of Veeam technical certification available. In 2019, Josh was accepted into Veeam's Vanguard Program.
Ben Stratton - Senior Account Executive
Ben Stratton is our Senior Account Executive. Ben has been in the technology field for 10 years in both technical and Account Executive roles. During his first 7-years working in the industry, Ben was on the front line of support. He started at the help-desk of furniture giant Steelcase, Inc. working his way up to project lead with a local managed service provider. After working with hundreds of clients on numerous upgrades, he found himself excelling at the consulting branch of the industry.
Ben’s focus at Element Four is educating clients on the strategic use of technology to promote business success. His specialty lies with Managed Services, Disaster Recovery, Colocation and Cloud Services.
Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in Networking Security from Davenport University where he graduated with honors.
Nate Kindy - Senior Systems Engineer
Nate Kindy is a Senior Systems Engineer who is dedicated on providing exceptional customer support on Enterprise technologies. During his 5-years working with Element Four, Nate has involved himself on numerous projects ranging from Managed Services, Colocation, Cloud Services, and Enterprise Consulting.
Throughout the years, Nate has worked his way up from various roles, such as Sub-Contractor, Support Engineer, and Systems Engineer. Each role stressed the significance of communication, collaboration, and teamwork with the customer and fellow teammates.
Nate has completed large scale projects including designing, planning, and implementing a Next-Generation Firewall with over 6,000 students and 17 locations. Additionally, Nate has expertise in deploying and maintaining Windows server/VMware infrastructures, Cisco switching and routing, and maintaining Fortinet security fabric.
Ross Beyer - Systems Engineer
Ross is a Systems Engineer who is dedicated to learning new technologies.
Ross graduated from Davenport University with a Bachelor of Applied Science focused in Systems, Networking, and LAN/WAN Management.
Ross joined our team in 2018 after spending two years as a systems administrator at a local manufacturing company where he solely managed the company's servers, networking, and phone systems. Additionally, Ross has experience in Cisco networking and switching, Hyper-V virtualization, and Office 365 deployment and management.
Sydney Vinton - Account Executive
Sydney Vinton is an Account Executive and works to introduce potential clients to Element Four's unique offering of enterprise technology solutions.
Sydney also oversees Element Four's advertising, public relations, marketing and communications initiatives in order to meet objectives.
Sydney has a bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo where she graduated with honors.
Kenny Shipley - Support Specialist
Kenny Shipley is a support specialist. Kenny has been in the technology field for ten years. Prior to joining the Element Four team, he worked as a private IT consultant in Kentwood.
Kenny provides exceptional support to our clients. He is always available to assist when an issue arises. He has a wealth of experience with PC and laptop deployments, software configuration and installs, laptop troubleshooting, and replacing hardware components.
Kenny holds a bachelor’s degree in Network Security from Davenport University.
